James Marlar founded Intersect Solutions, LLC (now Hallmark Business Group) in 2003 because of his interest in business brokering.  His 30-year career in the IT industry ended when he was chosen as part of the management team that prepared and managed the sale of a major division of Protective Life Insurance company.  As Assistant Vice President managing the IT resources for the Division he worked with the other managers to bring about a successful transfer valued at $300,000,000.   

After owning and completing the project to migrate the IT services to the acquiring company, James left to form Intersect Solutions (now Hallmark Business Group) and joined Business Brokers Network (BBN) as an affiliate broker. James now works with local Birmingham Business Owners to help them with their business valuations and transition plans. He has participated in numerous training programs and conferences sponsored by BBN. Through BBN, James has earned the designations of Business Transfer Specialist (STS) and Financial Recasting Consultant (FRC). He participates in the local Birmingham Regional Chamber of Commerce, is a member of the Better Business Bureau and has earned his Alabama Real Estate Salesman’s License.
